http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-19798746It is insane. Here is a footage of an earlier test: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-12653148Remember - this is going into a car that will travel at 1000 mph, with a driver.

First up, wow! Second up, BBC can't tell the difference between a coat hanger and an aircraft hangar.

Saw the lifesize model of the car at Goodwood, and it gives me a sense of well being to know we can still turn out machines like this. It's properly barking. And to be driven by a 50 year old pilot, not some young pup fresh from Go Karts, which also pleases me.

In case you missed it, the will be a test firing of the rocket today. I understand that Cornwall will hear it. They played a sound of it running on the radio this morning. It was a truly soul-ripping noise. I would not want to be sitting in front of it.

If he had been smoking a pipe in that photograph it would possibly have been epic enough to set fire to the atmosphere.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.
