Going on empirical evidence, shouldn't the Catholics be canonising Sir Jimmy?

There is no established process to remove a papal knighthood posthumously because the honour dies with the recipient.

So if he doesn't have the honour any more, what's the problem?

The catholic church is nothing if not a stickler for procedure, providing it's it's own procedure.

Excuse me, but i think in future you need to make a distinction between 'The catholic church' and 'the catholics'. The former is an organisation that has a lot to answer for, the latter is merely a bunch of people the vast majority of which have done absolutely nothing wrong.

My irony meter just exploded.

Like our Knighthoods etc., they expire when the individual dies. Anyway, what good will "stripping" him of the title do?

The media could just stop using the Sir title.

Erm.... how were they supposed to be not judged as hypocritical?

If they take away his knighthood after all the scandals, they're judged as being hypocritical

If they don't take away his knighthood and yet claim to be reforming the church, they're judged as being hypocritical
