Quote:
Publicist, Max Clifford, has said that he is being approached by stars from the 60s and 70s who are increasingly concerned over the growing investigation into the Jimmy Savile child sex abuse claims.
Mr Clifford said, "I think there are a lot of very famous people who are very concerned and very frightened".
He went on to say that a distinction should be made between the "real Jimmy Savile types" and "young guys, many of whom were being pursued in dressing rooms ... and everywhere they went by young girls".
The well known publicist also commented on an influx of stories, that he believed to be false, made by people trying to profit from the scandal.
"In the last two or three weeks I would think we've been approached by between 20 and 30 women, who are claiming all kinds of things, of which I would doubt that 50 per cent were being completely honest."

Sort of depends on how young the girls were, and what they did with them?

Even for those who just signed autographs and said hello, the very fact their names are being mentioned in the same breath as Jilly Savile's could destroy their reputation. People could easily tar them with the same brush after putting two and two together to get five.
I'm not surprised they're frightened.
Remember the paediatrician who was hounded because some morons amongst the general public didn't know the difference between a paediatrician and a paedophile?

Yes, I saw him trotting out these lines on Daybreak since they'd given him the opportunity to control the story for his clients!

That would be the same publicist who was hired to turn the Grand Theft Auto game into a media frenzy, would it?

Well it does depend on the act. There may have been few James Last groupies and mostly band members of acts such as Mud, Bay City Rollers, Duran Duran, Take That, Westlife etc. I would imagine every boy band since the 70's bar the Osmand's would have some nervous members.

good ...

now to find the ones that gave the orders to turn a blind eye and allow this to happen
and these orders came from the top (BBC, NHS, social services and Govt. Departments)
the high and mighty may just have a (very long) fall ...

And perhaps so they should be:

Didn't something like this happen in Belgium a few years ago? They had a child abuse scandal that ended up implicating an immense number of people, some of whome were in significant positions of power.

RE: Gadd being arrested - I can't help thinking there's a bit of 'round up all the usual suspects' about that one. It doesn't exactly require a lot of brainwork to arrest a convicted pedophile in the middle of a massive child abuse scandal does it?

Glitter is the go-to man if you want to find out about this kid of thing. I thought he was still in prison abroad.

Actually, by the sound of things, you probably don't.

Gadd's name came up as part of the Saville investigation. He was caught having sex with a young girl in Saville's dressing room.

News clicky
Quote:
The estate of television presenter Jimmy Savile has been frozen in response to the sex abuse claims made against him, NatWest bank says.

The bank, which is acting as the late DJ's executor, said: "Given the claims raised, distribution of the estate has been put on hold."

Savile's estate is thought to be worth about £4 million.

Lawyers representing those who claim they were attacked by Savile are planning to sue the estate for damages.

He's been dead for ages. How come hus estate hasn;t been distributed yet?
And I wonder what legal grounds they have for stopping distribution. Obviously they have moral grounds, but legal?

I expect it's in anticipation of litigation.
