No sh1t. At least they had the guts to fix it, now they need to try adjusting attitudes and information, same as everywhere else.

We of course will eventually adopt it, at least that's my prediction... Same as the booze attempts

I am against the tax. Decent food labelling would achieve the same effect, without impacting the spending of the poor. If the government really want to do something make it compulsory for employers to pay for gym memberships for all employees or provide a gym facilities.

A good thing, but there is little chance of the prices coming back down to original levels.

I understand the intent of the Danish government, but the implication just didn't work, especially for certain businesses. One example is the bakery. Putting the tax solely on cakes leaving bread exempt would have meant the shop sold far fewer cakes and the same amount of bread. What the bakeries did was to calculate what extra tax needed to be paid, and levied the amount over their entire range, including bread. So the government got their money and the customer paid more, but habits weren't changed in the slightest.

I wouldn't be surprised if the UK government thought they could do it differently.

Even the odd cake helps people. Especially if they only use it as a treat for achieving something. This will simply be another tax to bash the poor.
