http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2013/01/ ... able-mess/Google Maps is (in)effectively blocked on Windows Mobile, and folks are not happy about the reasoning. So is it naughty, or do they have every right to choose who can use the service?

Its very naughty and is the sort of behaviour that could lead to a very very big fine, just ask Microsoft.

It sounds reasonably anti-competitive to me. Lawyers may be able to argue differently of course.

I know 2 of them are. The other 3 couldn't get "comments" to work on Youtube, so we don't know yet.

It used to work... But I used Bing maps or the free Navigon software on my phone.

It's not just Windows Phone. I kept getting thrown onto the Google search page when I was trying to look up maps on my (admittedly rather old) Symbian Phone (SE Vivaz Pro). I can believe it would be blocked for performance reason on Symbian but WP and especially WP8 is a rather newer beast.
