It clearly is not going to save you from a 1km fall. The other man was very lucky, but he could still die. Why did they do it so close to a 1km drop? :shock:

Because they're idiots. If you do something like that, you have to do it somewhere safe.

I can understand why the people took part but the location was not picked by them, that would be the fault of the organisers. I might do it on a normal hill but not high up in the mountains.

I've done it before in NZ. It was down a grassy hill into a giant grass bowl with buildings all around it. Probably an old quarry or something.

I'd never do it at a ski resort like that.
