Click was saying that months ago when they went to Japan and 3D sets were nowhere to be seen. OLED is said to give 'depth' to an image from a wider viewing angle without the need for the stupid glasses, and without it being disconcerting. |

I have to admit, it's the contrast of OLED that I'm interested in. 4k is fine, but I'm not that bothered about it. I couldn't care less about 3D. |

I was in a Curry's or such superstore and saw a 3D TV and was blown away by the images. I never really took to 3D cinema. The active glasses made the difference for me. That said I am simply not in the market for a 3D TV and OLED is what I am more interested in. The low energy use and brightness of colours are the killer features for me. |

My dad has a passive 3D TV and the effect is [LIFTED]. A friend has an active 3D TV and the effect is [LIFTED]. I'm not particularly against 3D but have yet to be impressed by a home TV set. I'm pretty sure the "3D is dead" claim is nonsense though as one manufacturer was showing a 4K no-glasses-required 3D TV at CES IIRC. |

Whenever I’ve tried a 3D set, I have been appalled at the interlacing in some and the overall darkness of the image in all. How these were deemed fit for purpose is beyond me. |

I have to admit I've not experienced 3D on a TV set. I've only experienced it at the cinema and TBH it just gives me varying degrees of headache depending on how bad the effect is. Bear in mind that I don't normally have headaches and even when I do, I don't bother with painkillers. |

Dredd apparently had some good 3D, but we didn't notice it! And it wasn't helped by, 'Oh, look at that random football. And that pipe sticking out above it. And...' ![]() |

I watched a video of a demo of an 8k TV an some images almost seemed to 'pop' out of the TV in a 3D effect. Here it is. Go to around 42 seconds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCcYrcyaFQA |

I'm going to have to replace our very old TV soon and I'd definitely be interested in a 3D TV now that there are more movies being released for that format. |

You do have to wonder for how long though, and are many of them films you'd actually want to buy? ![]() |

Yes but will people want to replace their DVD and now Blu ray collections with 8k discs? |

Some Bluray players can uscale DVD's. I wonder if 8k disc players could upscale Blu Rays? |
