Hmm. It's an unattributed rumour and not one you'd expect Apple to comment on. Unlikely we're going to know the truth of it until Apple's next financial statement.

I think that is because they do not want to buy a new phone right now. I am tied into a two year contract with my iPhone 5 and if rumours are true that there will be 3 more versions of iPhone before I am able to buy again. I might still wait another few months to get a decent deal on the next one. Though the supply cycle could be much shorter as they gear up for the next version of the iPhone.

I'm due an upgrade, but more than happy with my iPhone 4, so I'm going on giffgaff for a while and maybe get the 5s.

I got my phone with a great cash back deal and so will be looking for a similar deal for my next upgrade, but I might have to switch networks for a short while to get the best deal when I return to my original telco.

The iPhone 5 wasn't quite the step up that people expected. I have a 4S and there was no compelling reason for going for a 5. A 5S might be different.

To be fair, weak iPhone sales still probably equates to numbers other manufacturers would commit crimes to have for their products.

And there still remains the question of profit. Does Apple care if it's selling less units if each unit is more profitable, thus maintaining the same bottom line?

BGR analysis suggests report may not be all it seems

Gruber is screaming it's somebody behind the scenes manipulating stock prices - Apple's has fallen at the report but will probably rally once all the selling is done. I think that's a step too far (and doesn't follow Occam's Razor for a start), the more obvious explanation is a piece of click bait and not much more.

Due an upgrade in March.
I can wait with the 4 until then - and if there's a 5S or something a couple of months away from March, I'll wait.

I can upgrade pretty much whenever I want, the beauty of a rolling month contract, but I'm not sure I'll get an iPhone 5.
I may just stick it out until whatever the next version is and decide then.
If I don't like what that one is, I can always get a 5 at that point.

Yeah but you may as well get the newer model, surely?

I heard that the update may be in June. Either way I am out of the market for a while.

Do you honestly believe that it will be? As far as I am concerned each has been incrementally better than the previous version even if it was only marginal.
