Actor Richard Briers, best known for his role in TV's The Good Life, has died at the age of 79, his agent has said.

The star, who was also an accomplished stage actor, had been battling a serious lung condition for several years.

Briers died "peacefully" at his London home on Sunday, his agent said.

More here.

Such a huge range of work, from Good life to Shakespeare's plays. Very talented man.

A big loss. I loved his work. What was the one where he played a flashy sales rep?

I really liked him in much ado about nothing.

RIP

The narrator of one of my all-time favourite cartoons.
That BBC article says he's best known for some comedy show, but to me at least he'll always be better known than that,

Mark
