In the end there will be the occasional employee who might break the law to get ahead in the company. Not that it was officially sanction by directors. There was something with Bill Gates giving something to UK schools and the government renewing some IT contract, years ago. Not necessarily illegal but it did look like a "gift" of some kind. I think it was about the time the government were looking at Linux as an alternative OS for all government departments.

Where is the news here? In certain countries this has been "standard practice" for centuries. If you don't offer kickbacks, you don't get any business.

It was big in the UK until they lates 70s or early 80s, when the practice was cracked down upon. Now they offer junkets instead.

Yes and if you mention bribes to Saudi's they get upset when you mention their "consultancy fees". As you say it is a normal part of doing business in many places.

It's about who knew I guess - the climate has somewhat changed around corruption again it has to be said.
