http://www.computerandvideogames.com/39 ... -bushnell/ It'll carry on for a few years at least, but even streaming/playing it on your TV won't save it unless they can find some way of promoting the games better. Most sink without trace. And the notion that full-on AAA dev teams are gonna spring up because of a tablet's processing power doesn't reflect the business at all. |

I can't see the link (works firewall), but: How can mobile gaming be over, it's, well, mobile. Mobile games are good for playing while you're travelling. I'd have thought mobile gaming at throw away prices, like current Android/iOS games are, would be the future. As opposed to £50 AAA titles. |

I think that he might have a point, but even Angry Birds had to start somewhere. If the game is good enough it will get picked as one of the staff favourites on iTunes, that does boost sales. Though I that as such it is a lot hard to make money from being one of the masses unless your game stands out.
With the consoles looking like they will try and kill second hand games they might actually kill the console themselves. In which case mobile gaming with Android and iOS taking the bulk of gamers will be norm. Though Mobile Gaming will also envision a move away from portable devices like the PSP and more towards phones. |

He's talking around the industry gimps claiming/implying that the console is dead, mobile's the future etc. He's suggesting it might have peaked. The latest Rovio game 'flopped' comparatively apparently (as it would do, ![]() |
