I see the Beeb have given a bit more info now. If I had to guess, Di Canio had the potential to make Miliband look bad in his new role. Though how he was ever expected to do those two jobs at once... ;)

Not at all. You can be fascist without making any distinction about skin colour.

I accept that, but much of fascism is based around national identity and excluding those considered inferior or scapegoating them.

Which doesn't necessarily have anything to do with race. People of your race, but from a neighbouring country would be equally as bad as somebody with a different skin colour.
