Two men have been convicted of plotting to kill singer Joss Stone.

Junior Bradshaw, 32, and Kevin Liverpool, 35, both of St Stephen's Close, Longsight, Manchester, were accused of planning to kill, injure and rob the singer at her home in Devon. Both had travelled to the county in June 2011 armed with weapons and notes detailing their plans to behead her.

Liverpool was jailed for life with a minimum term of 10 years and eight months at Exeter Crown Court.

The men set off from Manchester in the early hours of 13 June. Their Fiat Punto was laden with weapons including a samurai sword, hammers and knives. When they arrived in East Devon they drove around for several hours attempting to find Miss Stone's house. At one point, they stopped to ask a local postman for directions, the court heard. The pair were eventually reported to police after they stopped off in Cullompton and local residents became suspicious.
