The whole thing looked like a bloody nightmare to me so I didn't bother as I didn't use my sky email and now I've ditched sky broadband anyway.

Didn't use it when it was Google, not using it now it's yahoo. I've got more email accounts than I know what to do with anyway.

A work colleague's been ranting about this the last couple of days - on the day it switched over to Yahoo, all his Sky email accounts stopped working . Eventually, he figured out that turning off SSL in the settings enabled them to work again - obviously, this isn't ideal as SSL is an extra level of security, but at least he got it working. His joy was short-lived, however, as over 1,600 old emails that had been previously deleted over the years were suddenly shat into his Inbox, freezing his computer and bringing his internet to a crawl.

Checking the Sky forums shows others having far more random emails appearing, one poor sap had 36,000 emails to sift through that were deposited into his Inbox - some old ones that had been deleted long ago, mostly spam though.

The whole thing's been badly managed, seems like they've gone for a cheaper option and it's come back to bite them. Couldn't happen to a nicer company! Apparently, from what I've heard, IMAP isn't even supported on the new Sky Yahoo service. WTF, that's just retarded?!!

When I switched to sky I never used the account. All my mail is forwarded to my me.com account anyway. That way I can access it on my iOS devices as well. So this really does not affect me at all. 8-)
