and fathered a child from itNewspapers are calling for the "public right to know". I really don't get it. It's a private business, as long as there is no conflict of interest with his job, who cares? Does having an affair make him a worse person/politician? Probably not.

I am in two minds over this
Boris is a public figure BY CHOICE and what sort of a person he is will determine if I would vote for him. He could be the best mayor ever but if as a hobby he enjoys pulling the legs of kittens then he would not get my vote. If sexual morality was important to me then it might make a difference to me vote wise as to if he can keep his pants on
However the kid did not choose to have Boris as its dad so their details should not be published unless they chose to go to the press “I am Boris’s Love Child” type expose

So Boris had an affair - so what - big deal.
If this was Italy it would increase his popularity.
Makes me think someone close to Cameron got this story leaked as they are running scared of him getting too popular.

It makes no difference to his competence, but would reduce his popularity with the "swivel-eyed loons" who make up a big slice of the Tory supporters. For most people it will be an irrelevance in terms of voting intentions. The only time it is an issue is if they spout policy on one hand and do the opposite personally.
