While I can understand their reasoning they really need to be very careful how this is used. Otherwise they risk being accused of setting up a police state.

Similar to confiscating football thugs passports before intentional events.

If they were born outside the UK, is let them leave, then cancel the passport so they couldn't get back in :twisted:;-)

You would need some way to legally remove their rights to citizenship, otherwise the courts will simply force the government to give them back their passports.
