Three women missing for ten years found alive in Cleveland house

Three women who went missing as teenagers about a decade ago were found alive on Monday in a residential area just south of downtown, within a few miles of where they disappeared. A 52-year-old man has been placed under arrest regarding this incident.

Cheering crowds gathered Monday night on the street near the home where police said Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michele Knight were found earlier in the day.

Police didn't immediately provide any details of how the women were found but said they seemed to be in good health.

Berry disappeared at age 16 on April 21, 2003, when she called her sister to say she was getting a ride home from her job at a Burger King fast food restaurant. DeJesus went missing at age 14 on her way home from school about a year later. Michele Knight vanished in 2002 at the age of 20.

Go into hiding with a couple of other randomly met people from the internet.
Re-appear a decade later and appear on Oprah.

It takes a lot of planning and patience for that. Wouldn't it be simpler just to have sex with loads of men and appear on one of Maury Povich's shows.

This looks similar to the case of the missing Californian girl who was kidnapped more than a decade ago, before she finally escaped. From the fact that someone was arrested and released could mean that this is group working together which makes things much harder to uncover.

Yes the media are looking at him, particularly his domestic disputes. The fact that the "Dominican" is now claiming credit, but did not stay around when the police arrived or want to be involved says a lot in its own way. The fact that he is not after money is in his favour. There will be a lot of questions about how the police handled these cases.

I think my considered conclusion on this is as follows...

who gives a [LIFTED]?

Seriously have we reached the level of utter intellectual vacuity as a society that the exact identity of the person who kicked the door in to let them out is something that's worth even a second's consideration? They didn't dive into a raging torrent or rappel down a cliff, they opened a door. That's it. Of all the stuff surrounding this case, the identity of the person who let them out is right up there with whether it was cloudy or a clear sky when it happened. Just.. what?

My sentiment that this is actually a news story can best be expressed by this :-

The fact is that the women are probably off limits so this is as close to the story as they can get. They might have had more credibility if they had kept on top of this story before the rescue.
