I think that this will really boost the graphic novel sector more than anything else. Reference books could also benefit considerably. A decent colour e-ink reader will be great for computer manuals and reference books. Considering the size of some computer reference books it will be significant savings printing especially for small print run books. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk. |

There's all sorts of money in it - schools, magazines, subscriptions, apps - all without the eye strain you get from reading for ages on a standard tablet. |

Yes I can definitely see the benefits for Amazon at least. The potential is obvious. If all school and university texts were available on a colour e ink reader it would mean huge sales for publishers (as long as the price was right for the books). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk. |

I like e-ink, but the lack of colour has been the main thing stopping me from buying something like a Kindle. Also, the resolutions have improved since the early days so I'm hoping for something which looks really good. |

I have held back as well. Not quite the same reasons, screen resolution and lack of colour were side issues, but getting locked into a dead format is my main concern. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk. |

That was a minor concern for me. Though the principle of you do not own the book and simply rent it is something that I also need to come to terms with. For computer manuals that is much less of a problem. For comics it is a big problem. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk. |

Which only encourages me to undertake Piracy should I ever get one. So I could buy the real copy and then Pirate a copy of it as security and to lend to friends (as I do with real books). The issue is once I get the pirate habit I might as well not buy the book and just do the piracy - and this is from someone who buys a book every couple of weeks at a minimum |

I wouldn't buy many books. I mostly want it for RP manuals which are usually given to me as colourful PDFs. My tablet and phone both run out of battery after about 4 hours of constant reading. That's just no use when you're playing a game that lasts 20 hours... |

If you own the book then you are in a grey area re format shifting if you then download a copy. I decided to check the kindle prices of technical books that I would consider, and they are £2 to £4 cheaper or thereabouts than the paper version. Though will they have diagrams and photos? If not they are not a great deal. You do need photos every now and then especially in manual. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk. |

What do you need rule books for – you should know them all off by heart! |

Our DM usually knows most of them, but we tend to play a lot of different games and my memory is terrible. Many of the rule books run to several hundred pages. Besides, the pictures are glorious to look at. |
