Look at the idiots trying to get their hand luggage out of the over wing emergency exits.
I'd be well pissed off if I was stuck behind then.

It did not look to be a panic which was fortunate.

If it was me, they'd have got a healthy shove. Let's see how your precious things survive a 20' fall.

What were the cabin crew up to? In an emergency they would have coordinated the evacuation and should have told passengers to leave their luggage. Though it might not have been conveyed to them in that sense of urgency. Until we have been in such circumstances we have no idea how we would react, though I do have some sympathy with the passengers over the lax attitude over evacuation.

People routinely ignore the cabin crew instructions. Especially when it comes to mobile phones. Does it really hurt so much to turn the damned things off when instructed?

Flew into Moscow on an internal flight a while back. There's a different attitude.

I always watch them and read the safety instructions as well since planes have different layouts and I do not always sit in the same seat.

In the 80's if the plane (from Airoflot) made the landing everyone cheered due to their poor safety record

When I travelled in Russia in around 1990, they had no safety ins ructions on taking off. The plane taxied to the runway, and off we went. That included some of the monstrous jets they have.

On some of the twin-prop planes I was on, people were taking livestock with them - goats and chickens.

I guess that's easy for them to do at the main doors as that's where they're sat. Over wing exits are a effectively unmanned by the cabin crew.

Yes but it looked like many other passengers were carrying baggage. So not just over wing passengers.
