MetroYeah, I'm sure you're 'forced' to sponge £4,500 a month off your parents. Four and a half K! A month! I don't know that much science, but if her job's paying her £30K a year and she's spending £4.5k a month, doesn't she have other problems? Jon

Well according to the salary calculator £4500 / month is a sal of £81,097.24 pa so a tad more than her £30K she claimed she earned http://www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk/lifestyle.php

Maybe it's an unflattering photo, but I've worked alongside prettier women, who managed just fine. They got attention and advances from some male staff, but they had the wherewithal to shut it down; without it wrecking their lives.

I think she probably left because of the money. If she was being harassed, why didn't she raise it with her supervisor? She could have taken them to court because of it. My thoughts exactly! _________________ He fights for the users.

She's got a PhD in something biology/medical related. She's plainly not thick. She just seems... like she can't really cope in the real world. And not in a 'likely to spend her whole life in academia' way - more like she just hasn't got the life skills at all.

No research job in the UK pays £80k. At least, not below institutional director level. She almost certainly was told what the wage market was before she got in to it. As I say, she just sounds like she's got a massive blind spot where 'dealing with the world as an adult' should be.
