Quote:
Hassan, an English and politics undergraduate at Kingston University, said she had sent the tweet "as a joke" about the design of the T-shirt.

I haven't even seen the t-shirts and I guessed that's what the story was actually about. Either way, FAIL all round.

After the Nottingham airport case too  I suspect she just failed the 'politics' part of her degree.

To be fair, if she's studying English and Politics she's got plenty of free time to do her community service...

A joke? Yes, I can just see the humour in the punchline [/saracsm]
I know people say silly things online, but normaly you can see the joke they were trying to make even if it isn't remotely funny.
In this case I can't even see the attempt.

I think it was a faux extreme reaction on her part ie the t-shirts look that bad. Which is probably why it was her who went to the police since she believed she was being threatened over a joke :|

Humour is, after all, subjective. Just because you don't share a joke doesn't make it wrong. However I can't think of any circumstances where a joke related to someone being brutally murdered in the street was a good idea.

Clearly not a good idea at all, but criminal? People frequently joke about fashions so bad anyone wearing it should be shot.

Well, I'm not entirely sure it should be, but it is, and it has been for a while. That makes being tripped up by it rather foolish.

But would you make that joke currently if you lived in Santa Monica?
