It's a long way from being over. European banking has not been fixed and until that has happened you can forget about it being over. Must be some other planet he is talking about?

hes saying that because they dont want to do anything about fixing the problems because it will make his party even more unpopular. Head buried in sand attitude achieved.

Is this the old "green shoots of recovery" trick? Say it over and over until people start to believe you?

I'm pretty sure that the recession wouldn't have been anything like as bad if we hadn't had Robert bloody Peston droning on and on about the recession as it started. Given that that became a self-fulfilling prophecy you cannot entirely blame a politician for trying to achieve the reverse with the same technique. Alternatively he could just be in full on ostrich mode.

Robert Peston forced George Osbourne and David Cameron to wed themselves to an incredibly hurtful austerity programme? No, I'm pretty sure those two ass hats managed that one on their own.

Regardless of what politicians say you only have to look around you to see if things are improving. The UK economy is stagnant so no reason for businesses to invest heavily and there is already excess production capacity, employers are keeping people on short time rather than letting them go, food and energy inflation is much higher than wage growth so most people are being squeezed financially.
Recovery will come just not yet.

If however he meant that "the Euro is over" he would be right. ;)

Sorry, my attempted humerous dig at Robert Peston's boredom inciting monotone clearly wasn't up to snuff!
