Even Apple might struggle to sell fad games in this sense. It's all for nothing without a controller that doesn't look and operate like crap.

Unless this is used as a way to get us to see more ads what does Google see in it? F1 racing games with genuine adverts along the race tracks might be one way of getting us to see ads but how will we click the links?

It'll be what the Xbox is now but on the cheap - a way to get your services on the main screen in the house. And Google own a lot of services. Plus they get to take on a lot of extra revenue game-wise and the potential for cheap access to developers with little risk at all.

I agree that it will be a way of leveraging their core services. Though it could also be a way of undermining Microsoft.

A very cheap console with android games can make sense but it does not have to be made by Google. So if it can use phone or tablet games then it might be a good console for many. It might squeeze the Wii.

It would. Instantly loads of games available and would make sense for many who have not signed up to steam yet.
