It shows how the many of the locals are racist. It is a shame that she was pushed to that point.

I didn't see it that way at all. To me, it looks like a cynical attempt to get publicity by playing the race card.

So people walk into her cafe, have a look around and decide to try somewhere else - they leave with a racist label? Maybe her cafe just isn't appealing, maybe she's sh!t at making tea, coffee and pastries?
