Post subject:  Norwegian woman in Dubai jailed for being raped
Woman reports being raped to Dubai police, who then sentence her to 16 months in gaol for having sex outside of marriage.

Remind me again how we shouldn't criticise the way they do things, because they're a different culture.

It might hamper tourism but do they really care? So many tourists have been caught out one or another there yet they think it will not happen to them. The zero tolerance on drugs has caught a few with poppy seeds from buns.

Is this her punishment for telling tales to the police? Was she supposed to accept rape is part of her lot in life as a woman in Dubai, and keep her mouth shut?

Shariah law - gotta get me summa that. I'm off to find a stick no thicker than my thumb, to beat the missus for being slow to make a cuppa. :roll:

Good for her, but will her colleague be charged in Norway? He deserves to be.
