I, probably like many others, remember the "go home" phrase. It was usually written on a wall and was receded by some nasty racial epithet. Nice to see the kind of idiot who was doing that in the 70s has grown up and is making policy decisions now.

Complete lack of proof is no problem for this government. Facts do not matter, it is what the message is that is important.

There may be absolutely no evidence, but it is a scientific fact.

Mr Clegg said: "Unless there is overwhelming evidence that this is a really effective way of bolstering public confidence in the immigration system and bearing down on illegal behaviour in the immigration system, I'm going to need a lot of persuasion.

This is more about stopping voters switching to UKIP than reality.

That it ever came into being shows how stupid and vile our politicians can be.

Shortly after the vans were launched in six London boroughs, Downing Street claimed they had been successful. However, ministers have still not taken a decision on whether it will be extended to other parts of the country.

They will probably just drive around any constituency which the Tories fear will switch from Tory to UKIP.
