Can't say I've seen the younger girls hitching their skirts up, but the teenagers certainly do. Dunno if skirts should be banned though :|

You will find that they will change into the trousers at school and into skirts as they leave. They will find ways around this.

Do boys ever get told that they are "ungentleman-like"?
If there's a dress code, everyone should abide by it, but I don't like that unlady-like comment.

We are living in a religiously bent patriarchal society. You expect equality?

Think again little lady. ;)

On the other hand, I wasn't allowed to wear skirts at school- apart from in the school play.

Banning skirts seems a but extreme. Surely they could say that they had to fully cover the knees?
I under stands the point though. Some girls go to school dressed as though they're going round town on a Friday night.

They would not look out of place on a hen night.

Facial hair was not permitted at my school, very ungentlemanly.

The amount of girls I see going to school in greyhound skirts is amazing.
If the girls actually followed the rules (usually no more than 1" above the knee) then they wouldn't need to ban skirts altogether.
The last thing a school wants is for a teacher to be accused of perving when the girls are sitting there flashing their pants at them in assembly
