I'd sooner pay over the odds than give that scrote my money.

The objective is to make users carry their own hand luggage and so save on the costs of ground handling. It will also make the aircraft lighter and so save some fuel as well. It is not such a problem if you know about it well in advance. Most people take too much when they go on holiday so if you can live out of one hand luggage it might avoid lost luggage problems as well. My biggest issue with Ryanair is that the airports are so far away from the city that you think you are going to. Not long before you return to London-Prestwick.

Ryan air is a pain in the arse. I'll never use them again.

Unfortunately, when i want to visit my parents, i have no choice. All other options are unaffordable.

Hardly anybody takes hold luggage on Ryanair anymore anyway. We've managed to sort it out that we can can go for ten days with hand luggage only, but it's a pain with two large bags, a trunki and a toddler. I have to carry all three bags down the aisle bashing everybody on the way past while my wife carries our daughter.

We can only do that because we are able to wash stuff at the other end and have a permanent store of toiletries.

If you can work around it then it should not be a problem. Though I prefer full fare airlines anyway, but Easyjet are the main airline to Zurich. Which is somewhere I am planning to go, so have no option but to use them.

Having flown Ryanair exclusively for the last couple of years, I was amazed how good easyjet were when I took a flight with them earlier this year.

I would rather get closer to my destination than get the cheapest flight and a 4 hour coach journey.

Just a matter of time before they install seating down there, then. :D

In my recent experience Easyjet are much better than ryanair.

They actually seem to care a bit.

When the ash cloud knocked out flights, Easyjet customers were looked after in hotels until they could be flown home while Ryan Air basically abandoned their customers. I shared a bus from Luton with some of them, and the stories they told were quite frightening.

I vaguely remember Ryanair claiming that they were not liable for such costs, claiming they were an act of god and so outside the remit of Ryanair.

Yep. And the EU told them if they wanted to carry on flying round Europe they should shut the [LIFTED] and get on with it.

It would take a lot for me to fly Ryanair.

I fly Ryanair a lot because my parents live 30 mins away from Bergerac and I live 1hr 20 mins away from Bristol and 1hr away from Southampton. Unfortunately flybe are the only carrier from Southampton to Bergerac and they are no longer a budget airline. They are never less than £150 a ticket and I need three of 'em. Sometimes, I can get the three of us to Bergerac and back for less than two hundred quid including parking - and for that I am truly grateful.

Asda should open up small clothes only branches at Ryan Air destinations. It will be cheaper to buy a new wardrobe on arrival than to fly your clothes there soon.
