Why would people want a camera in their iPod? They already have them in their phones. All that does is bump up the cost.

It's quite possibly come about because of customer surveys etc, maybe along the lines of 'I've all this storage I never really use' :?

Apple also see a market in the Flip Video camera sector. An iPod Touch has the capacity and has the WiFi capabilities, so you can shoot & upload to YouTube instantly. Something other cameras of that kind can not do.

If it is a video camera, hopefully it will have a microphone as well. That voice notes app on my iPod Touch looks tempting, but I don't have an external microphone for it! :evil:

Considering I've shot about 30 seconds of video in my life, and that was to see the 720p video my new Canon Ixus can take, I don't think it is a big draw for me... :?

I don't think it would get me to take more video.
