PS 13 due to pass 0.5 lunar distance from Earth tomorrow

OK, Asteroid zips past (in astronomical terms) within a hair's breadth of us, that's scary enough right? You know what's actually scary? We only found out it was coming two days ago.

It's not the near misses you have to worry about.

Yup, I'd take 1000 near misses everyday over an impact.

Asteroid 2013 PS13 Closest Approach Today and will Fly Between the Earth and the Moon at a Distance of 203.700 km (0,5 LD)

So which is it, 203km or a 0.5LD?

203km means it will pass through the atmosphere.

I think it is 203 700 km I think that some places use the comma instead of a dot and vice versa.

It's from from Madrid.

Much of Europe uses the comma as the decimal point (as in the ‘0,5LD’ from the article ;) ) and they use either a space or a full stop for the digit group separator. A lot of engineers and scientists use the same system when writing documents - depending on use, there can be more contrast, it can be more readable and less likely to suffer from copying errors.
