The problem with a burning baseball bat is that it becomes less effective over time compared to say one with nails in it.  Plus, if they really wanted to go for Glasgows weapon of choice it would have had to be some sort of burning blade. On a more serious note, I think it looks better than the London Olympic torch design. Plus titanium fused together using lasers - what's not to like? |

It has the advantage of getting lighter as time goes on and so become easier to swing as you get tired. |
