Hope he takes them to court - I'd love to see them try and justify using the Terrorism Act.

And the US have said they had nothing to do with it other than get a 'heads-up'

It is also the seizure of all his electronics equipment. This is deliberate harassment of the press and puts the UK up there with other questionable regimes.

She's cute but I don't listen to her ;)

No, what did he have to say?

I was listening to his Bilderburg rants. They seemed pertinent.

As for Ms Jones, she knows what she is doing.

David Miranda in legal challenge over seized data

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23769324

Good, but this bit's laughable

Quote:
The Home Office has defended the detention, saying police must act if they think someone has "stolen information that would help terrorism".

Stealing information? I suppose they'd know all about it. I suppose this 'helping terrorism' BS is standard now too. Reminded me of a Punisher comic where a character said you could fcuk a puppy live on TV so long as you shouted 'National Security!' while you were doing it...

Quote:
Law firm Bindmans have written to the home secretary and Met Police commissioner for assurances "there will be no inspection, copying, disclosure, transfer, distribution or interference, in any way, with our client's data pending determination of our client's claim".

Good luck with that it is probably already all on the NSA servers.

NSA files: why the Guardian in London destroyed hard drives of leaked files

A threat of legal action by the government that could have stopped reporting on the files leaked by Edward Snowden led to a symbolic act at the Guardian's offices in London

You know the quote from 1984? "If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face — forever."

I saw a tweet today "If you want a picture of Britain today, imagine a boot stamping on a macbook - forever."

This seems appropriate.

Snowden NSA files: US and UK at odds over security tactics as row escalates

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/a ... ard-drives

No, the police weren't directed at all despite the fact we already know Miranda had travelled with his partner's work previous to this incident. May then has the cheek to say that it's strictly a decision for the police while crowing about people 'aiding terrorists'

It does all ignore that many of these terrorists would not exist if it were not for our illegal wars of occupation, or the support of certain regimes.

Quote:
Mr Miranda told the BBC he was forced to disclose his social media passwords.

"I am very angry. This feeling of invasion. It's like I'm naked in front of a crowd," he said. "They said I had to co-operate or else I was going to jail."
...

Mr Miranda was detained under schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

This allows police to hold someone at an airport, port or international railway station for up to nine hours for questioning about whether they have been involved with acts of terrorism.

Under schedule 7, if someone fails to co-operate they are deemed to have committed a criminal offence and could face up to three months in prison, a fine or both.

Can you even ask for legal representation in that instance? Or has that been taken away too? :x

You do not have right to representation I think. Or to tell anyone that you are detained. I could never supply my passwords as I do not remember them.
