We crawled out of the seas, right? Maybe not.

This makes far more sense when you realise that god put them there 4,000 years ago. /sarcasm* This is really very interesting. I read an article once that said that evolution was not a gradual process, but one which can be measured in jumps and bumps (obviously, on a geological time scale), so if things evolved more rapidly because of the time scale that a lake exists for, then this helps make a connection. I just wish someone would hurry up and build a time machine. It would be fascinating to see what the planet looked like at various times without having to resort to artists’ impressions. *Just in case you felt I had totally lost my marbles. |

As Professor Steve Jones puts it, evolution seems to have been made by jerks and not creeps. Well, it's funnier when he tells it. ![]() |

Consider this - we're discovering more and more species at a time when we're also losing many. Could this be evolution at work? It's been interesting working for a zoo and hearing the education staffs point of view on things. Nature's a cold mother. |
