Post subject:  David Cameron defends Britain in Russia 'small island' row

Quote:
David Cameron has made an impassioned defence of Britain's history and achievements after a Russian official dismissed it as "just a small island".

Speaking to reporters at the G20 summit, the unnamed official said "no-one pays any attention" to Britain.

But a Conservative MP has waded into the row by saying on Twitter that President Putin "really is a tosser".

Confirming his views to the BBC, Crawley MP Henry Smith added: "I would say in other forums he's an absurd character. I think it's appalling and shameful what he did in protecting the Assad regime."

The Putin Tweet is still there:

We are a small nation but with an incredible past. We still only have 22 countries to invade to complete the set! The fact is he is partially right in that our greatest days are behind us and things are not getting any better with this government at the helm. Look at the idiocy that builds aircraft carriers and then sells the only aircraft that we have that could use it before the replacements are due.

This is what I was talking about the other day, 'international standing' isn't worth a fcuk long-term so long as you have something to trade. Though kudos to whichever state takes out One Direction.

Well what about the one who calls himself Simon Cowell, the founder of One Direction?
