I wonder what the European statistics would be for this sort of thing if a study was done - it's the sort of story our press thrives on but the number of occurrences are still shocking.

I'm guessing medical help is required rather than her being pure evil....... we shall see.

These clothes still fitted him because his growth had been stunted, Mr Greaney said.

"It had been stunted because he was malnourished over a lengthy period and that state of affairs resulted in his death. In short, he starved to death.

It sounds like she wanted the baby to remain a baby so only feed small rations. There could be many psychological factors involved.
