She got treated pretty badly by the justice system as well.

Agreed. If the judge hadn't reneged on the deal, she would have been spared all this and Polanski would have been convicted, end of the story for her. But the judge just had to drag her through the mud. :(

if Pokanski hadnt abused his position and raped a 13 year old girl then this wouldnt be an issue .

No question. But the judge made it a lot more harrowing for her than it needed to be.
