the press are in court for the 'alleged' crimes that they have committed. rightly so to. were are the court cases for the 'banksters' and other (large) companies that break the law. sadly the 'muppets of parliament' (MPs) do not wish to pursue any one else, other then the 'free press' that printed certain articles about 'muppets of parliament' expenses ho hum ... |

Not quite fair. It was the Torygraph that broke the story on the expenses scandal. They seem to have been doing proper journalism so have been relatively unscathed in these scandals. |

Yes it was people that they employed to do the work that were appalled at the corruption and so sold the data on to the Telegraph. Though that could be aided by a decent whistleblower law. One with teeth could clean up much of the problems in defence procurement and NHS procurement. Though with the political parties dependent on the funding of no more than 400 people the rest of us are irrelevant even if the Tories are targeting 23 demographic groups for the next election. We need to clean up political funding as well. Though the parties and their backers will not like that one little bit. |

I mean we need a whistleblower law that protects the whistleblower. The US had one law that meant that a whistle blower could get 30% of the savings that the Whistleblower saved the government in their deals. We need it to apply to any one. The problem is that while we would all agree that we would include national security as an exemption the government would include such things as their expense as a national security issue. |
