Is it really a problem? Or have the Daily Mail being making up panic stories again. |

Moi. Haribo, skittles and fanta were what i used to keep awake at night during exam time. Our exams were crammed into one day. I would guzzle all night, go to bed at 4am with the shakes from so much sugar, wake up at 6am, head into exams for 9am, leave around 4pm and still have the shakes going home. I always stayed overnight to sleep it off and went home the following day. |

Haven't some drinks like that been totally banned in France? |

If there is a health reason why is it being left to stores? |

It would appear there is limited evidence either way for the long term effects of the drinks. Like a great many things I suspect that having the odd one will do naff all but people drinking them a lot, like some teenagers during exam time, are more likely to have problems. |

Welcome to the dark side of the kettle, mister pot. How's that American civil war you predicted progressing? I read somewhere that kids need a lot of sleep, so they probably shouldn't be loading up on caffeine. But this is only a very trivial story about a supermarket deciding not to sell a product to some customers. |

wtf? On topic, I have no problems restricting these drinks to some degree. I see 10 year olds walking down the street with large cans of Monster and the like - do they really need such a concentrated mixture of sugar and caffeine at that age? You can bet their parents wouldn't buy it for them, so why not restrict it for certain ages? |
