The PSNI's historical enquiries team certainly had to hire ex-RUC officers due to lack of experience and the would-be cost in the 'market', to simplify it here. This was controversial because the likes of Sinn Fein had spent decades convincing the gullible and outright morons that the RUC were a paramilitary group. Yes, the irony...
