I've certainly been aware of the odd robbery concerned with lifting (or at least attempting to) a cash machine in the local vicinity but I suspect even that's dying on its backside because unless you can get the cash out the machine untarnished it's effectively useless anyway.

Plus, as the report says, why take the risks involved in physically attaching a bank when there are more sophisticated and less risky ways to extract cash from people.

Plus the penalties for other offences that can net similar sums are less.
