That is not going to change for a long time.

I am generally not for abortion as a form of contraceptive after the fact, but there are many cases where an abortion is a valid way to go forward for the mother. Making it illegal is the wrong way to go, people will either use other methods or unregistered doctors and put their lives at risk, or they could try to commit suicide.

For example, that victims of rape not being able to get an abortion is something I find abhorrent. On the one side, the fetus can't do anything about the situation, but it is still incredibly traumatic for the mother, it is a constant reminder of the violation of her body.

Rape should be an exemption. It is a cruel reminder. Though abortions should be the woman's right and they do have at least 20 weeks in the Uk to decide. Though with medical advances maybe that figure should be lower.

Women who want an abortion will find a way to get to their end regardless of it being legal or not. Secure and clean facilities at least protect the women's lives.

Yes before this many Irish women would come to the UK for abortions.
