The fact that they took only 20 minutes to decide showed that they would have done the same if they could. He did not go with a weapon, managing to take it off the thieves, which was probably crucial. If he had been with a baseball bat then it could have been a very different verdict. You still need to test the law in chase attitudes change or some circumstances are relevant. The fact that one had multiple fractures but he escapes conviction also shows that the courts will also not be tough on victims. |

Agreed. While I think it should have gone to court I would not have found him guilty either. ![]() |
