According to ATOS, yes. And of course they'd have no financial interest in finding that, would they?

Quote:
A spokesman for Disability Rights UK said many of those passed fit will not, in fact, be capable of entering the workplace in any meaningful sense due to physical or mental health problems.

"They are finding people fit for work when they aren't and they are not even giving them the support they need to get a job. It is a disgrace," he told BBC News.

I was told that I might be able to work with support. I appealed and when less than a week after getting my ATOS assessment I received a call asking me to come for a work related interview. When I said I was appealing they said that was the end of the process for them right now, and said that there were so many cases in appeal that they expected it could be as much as a year before they would contact me again. In the end I won my appeal without even needing to send in any additional information because it was all in the forms and the report. So they ignored information that was available to them because that would not suit their financial objectives. All that did was leave the DWP with even more work processing appeals.

As for the government claiming that people would be on benefits for years without any checks was also rubbish. I had to reclaim my disability every three years or so and only got my life award three years ago.
