This is more about competing with Apple than anything else. Since Android already has a large slice of the smartphone market this could be anti competitive. |

I don't see how it strictly adds up to lack of competition, especially since some of the patents were absurd to start with. And it's not like Microsoft, for instance, haven't signed such patent deals in the past. |

Sounds like they're just covering their arse as they know how rediculously aggressive Apple's litigation policy is. |

Yes but when you copy everything that Apple do then you should expect to be sued.
