I suspect most people BBQ outdoors which is vastly different to the smoke of one or more cigarettes in a confined space like a car. Carcinogen risk is still there from charred foods more than the smoke but I can't see BBQ laws coming in without a fight. |

Isn't there a law about driving while being impaired? I thought that was what was used to fine people using telephones at the wheel. If not for health reasons, driving with a burning cigarette in your hand, risking to drop it or hot ashes on your lap while driving is plain dangerous. |

It's the observers (police officers) discretion, there's no law against smoking, tuning the radio, opening a packet of sandwiches etc at the wheel as long as you are in full control of your vehicle. |
