Legally they shouldn't, but when did that ever mean anything... |

I know, I mean they shouldn't be holding it in the strictest sense. |

Over here people seem to be leaving in droves. Threeam had over 500,000 downloads this morning, after the news broke, just in the Google Charts, moving it from nowhere (10,000 downloads) to 4th place. It was allegedly doing similar business over at the iTunes Store. I sent the eldest daughter an SMS at 8, saying 'welcome to Facebook, resistence is futile' in German and I got the reply that she had already abandoned Whatsapp and was looking for an alternative. It might come to that for me too. The problem, like social media ironically, is convincing all those people to come with you... |

Been looking at the alternatives and Telegram looks quite good. |

Problem is that they market themselves as social networking and if they are anything like Facebook then I am not interested. |

Loads of initial noise about people leaving and that Fb would destroy the app and kill it off and blah blah blah … Instagram is still just as popular. Mark |

Do you really want all of them? ![]() Find a new service and only tell those that you really want to keep in touch with. |

I'm in daily contact with them and they're all on Facebook so won't see the problem as I do. The less info FB has on me the better IMO. And yes, I'd abandon Google and their services if they even had a near rival... |

My activity on FB and Google Plus is really minimal. I could close both without too many problems. |
