Still haven't seen a Chromebook IRL, not even on TV!

Every website I've seen that publishes stats, chrome books amount of a portion of a single percent of clients viewing them. Assuming people buying Chromebooks are in fact hooking the up to the net (and if they aren't, what are they doing with them?) that suggests the idea that massive drop in the number of windows licences is not, in fact due to Chromebooks.

In fact, let me put it this way..

Windows sales down. Chromebook sales : A few thousand a month. Tablet sales (including all flavours that don't require a windows licence) : several million a month.

Headline : "windows sales are dropping because people are buying Chromebooks!"

I refer the reader, as I often do, to Betteridges Law. To quote the man himself..

Quote:
...Any headline which ends in a question mark can be answered by the word "no". The reason why journalists use that style of headline is that they know the story is probably [LIFTED], and don’t actually have the sources and facts to back it up, but still want to run it.

I do not think it is the Chromebook effect. Austerity means many people are simply not replacing machines as often. The main western markets are effectively saturated and all you can do to grow is take market share from others. Apple are able to cope because even now they still make up a small segment of desktop and laptops sales. Tablets are a great option for many people. They are simple light and economical. Most software is cheap and they can be used anywhere, and a 4G option and they can definitely be used most places. I think Tablets are replacing computers for many people, not Chromebooks.

The article is fine, all the lazy misrepresentation here is yours.

We bought a chromebook for some testing in the office. Worked out it was useless for business unless we used it just to rdp to a windows box
