I can't help wondering if you could merge BBC4 into iPlayer never mind BBC2 - I rarely look at what channels a show actually appeared on when using iPlayer. Depends on BBC4's viewers/ratings too of course.

Either way, you wouldn't want BBC2 becoming a total mish-mash of art, science AND comedy and drama. The balance it has now is pretty much perfect, and every time they've tried to shift comedy shows to BBC1 it's never really worked.

Axe BBC3 - it's pretty much identical to ITV2 and E4 anyway

+1 Plus some of its shows could fit BBC2 anyway.

Isn't BBC3 sort of their testing ground for shows? Whatever you make of them :| , again, I can't help thinking you could use iPlayer there maybe.

Yes though would they be able to sell the freed up channel to another broadcaster? Unless there is much demand will it raise much revenue?

I don't think I've ever watched anything on BBC4.

I watched the Horizon programme about Pandemics last night. It is more of an arts channel. The only other equivalent would be Sky Arts.

I watch BBC4 a lot. I wouldn’t miss BBC3 - they could easily do the experimental stuff on BBC2.
