IIRC infant biochemistry can occasionally be quite different to adult biochemistry. I remember reading that infants still have quite a lot of stem cells floating round their system that adults don't have for example, and their immune systems are quite... odd. It's undoubtedly useful information but I suspect whatever the method was won't be directly applicable to the population as a whole. It would certainly be applicable to other infants though, so there's a strong possibility of eventually having a system that reliably stops infants 'inheriting' HIV. That of itself is a wonderful thing.

Not just HIV but possibly many other conditions. Another Science is awesome.
