Hmm. Video ads. Clearly there is no other way to make money any more. The 15 seconds slot makes me think these will be coming to Instagram too.

Would those work if they're using straight HTML5 inline video?

RIP in Firefox allows you to block individual parts of pages and have it remembered across the site, domains etc. No idea about Facebook though.
